New Program!!
Teen Jam Band
Celene is launching a new program bringing together instrumentalists of all varieties in a "guided jam" format. This program is geared towards students aged 13 to 17 who are currently taking lessons who want to expand their ensemble skills, and take their lessons to a whole new level!!
The program will:
- organize teens into level appropriate bands
- guide them through the rehearsal process
- teach different ways to jam
- introduce and facilitate the creation of original music
- guide and refine song writing
- assist in refining soloing skills
- create a team building environment
- critique works and assist in arrangements
- help prepare for a performance or recording
- bring together teens who want the experience of playing with a band
The program will not teach instrument techniques. Private lessons specific to your instrument are designed to deal with technical learning like chord progressions, notes, fingerings, strumming and picking techniques. This program is an excellent supplement to lessons, or for proficient players to get together with other musicians.
The sessions run bi-weekly during the school year to allow for time to learn new material and get assistance from their private instructors in between sessions, and there are summer weekly programs available.
